Need More Energy? Eat the Right Foods
Food is fuel. Eating the right kinds of food after your weight loss surgery can give you more energy for exercise and other activities you love.
The kind of food we put in our body has a big impact on how we feel. After weight loss surgery, your dietary intake is limited and you’ll be eating much less than before. That makes it all the more important to eat the right foods – the foods that will give you the most energy with the least fat and sugar.
According to the American Dietetic Association, carbohydrates are key to energy, and protein is good for endurance. Complex carbohydrates such as whole grains are important because it takes your body longer to digest them so you feel satisfied longer. But don’t forget about fruits and non-starchy veggies – their carbs may not be complex, but they provide energy and important nutrients. Avoid foods that are high in fat and sugar. They won’t give you the energy you need.
Make sure to have balanced meals throughout the day and follow the doctor’s instructions. Dehydration can make you feel sluggish too, so make sure you get plenty of water and liquids.
Weight loss makes you feel good about yourself and it helps a great deal with mobility amongst other things. If you feel good, you will have more energy. You will be more likely to motivate yourself to exercise, move around and consequently lose weight. So accelerate your accomplishments by eating well and getting plenty of rest.Back To All Posts
